Spring isn’t the only time of the year when cleaning is important. Getting a jump start on cleaning in the Fall will prepare you for the Winter when flu season arrives and save you from having to catch up on cleaning in colder weather.

These cleaning tips will ensure you get deep down in the cracks and crevices that may have been neglected in the previous months.

  • Deep clean your entryway. This includes wiping down your front door and shaking out or vacuuming the front mat. If there are any items of furniture in the entryway, dust these items and wipe down the furniture legs. This will give your guests a good first impression when they arrive to your home.

  • Focus on the kitchen. Often times the kitchen is a place where people gather together when food is being prepared. Give your kitchen a deep clean by scrubbing the floors and floor boards as well as cleaning the oven, garbage disposal and dusting the light fixtures. Flushing the sink drains with boiling water is a good trick to cleaning out the garbage disposal and making your kitchen smell fresh!

  • Sniff out bad smells. When your home smells good your guests will feel good. Spend some time sniffing out areas with bad smells and replacing them with candles or wax warmers.

  • Consider having your carpets professionally cleaned. Having your carpets and upholstery cleaned will remove obvious stains that may be difficult to remove otherwise, and leave your home smelling fresh and new. Doing this will give your carpets and couches a clean that will last through the Fall season!
